We decided to travel first class in our van!

We fitted heated, powered leather & alcantara captain seats on new swivel seat bases and the results are amazing.

It’s not like our old seats were uncomfortable – they were, very. But these new seats shod in dark grey leather with alcantara are also powered and heated – so there’s no comparison. Plus the luxury factor in our VW T4 Transporter just went first class!

The seat bases are from CMC – they’re specifically made for the T4 and simply bolt on. If we were using factory seats they’d just bolt on too – but we didn’t. I had a pair of awesome seats that I removed from a PT Cruiser sitting in storage awaiting a new lease on life – and this transplant into our VW T4 Transporter was an epic upgrade. I love these seats!

They weren’t a straight fit so I had to make some adapters out of steel flat bar. Figuring out the wiring is the biggest challenge, because I wanted us to have the benefit of heated seats – leather can be a little chilly so heated seats is a big upgrade.
